Meet our new Assets and Contracts Manager Neil!

Date: 04/07/2024

This month Neil joins our BRAND-NEW Assets and Contracts Team.

Neil joins Staffs Housing and will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and value for money of our repairs, maintenance, and planned improvement services.

His 40-year experience in the housing and maintenance sector makes him a perfect fit for the role. Having previously worked for Stafford and Rural Homes as an Assets, Compliance, and Contracts Manager and for Stoke-on-Trent City Council before that as a Repairs Maintenance Supervisor.

He’ll be leading our brand-new Asset and Contracts Team to make sure you are kept safe in your homes and that repairs are completed to a high standard.

Neil says the move to Staffs Housing is a personal milestone after he started his career working as a contractor for Staffs Housing over 40-years ago.

“I grew up in social housing”, said Neil.

“I lived close to the City Council’s depot and would see contractors come in and out, and from a young age I always dreamed of working for them.

“I trained to become a plumber, and then began completing contracting work for Staffs Housing. After years of working my way up the ladder, I’ve found my way back as Assets and Contracts Manager. It’s kind of like a full circle moment for me.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the team and using my experience to provide a great repairs, maintenance, and planned improvement services to you our customers.

“I’m keen to get stuck in and see where I can make a difference to keep you safe but also satisfied with our services.”

Head of Property Kathryn says the team are so excited to welcome Neil this month.

“We think he’ll be a perfect fit for the role with such extensive experience within housing and maintenance”, said Kathryn.

“Alongside that, he’s also worked for our partner organisation Stoke-on-Trent City Council, whose subsidiary company UMS deliver our responsive repairs service. His knowledge and connections from his time at the council will also be invaluable.

“Providing a high-quality repairs and maintenance service is something that customers have told us is really important to them, so we’re hopeful that Neil will be able to deliver on that.”
