Our approach 

We'll prevent tenancy fraud by taking steps to ensure we know who signs up to rent our homes, and who actually lives in them, these include:

  • Confirming the identity of hopeful tenants, by completing right to rent (RTR) checks to make sure applicants have the right to rent a property from us. 
  • Signing up new tenants with a tenancy agreement.
  • Completing home visits during the first year of your tenancy and beyond, including settling-in visits within the first six months. 
  • Carrying out tenancy audits to confirm your identity and your right to live in the property, and the UK. 
  • Working in partnership with agencies to help investigate tenancy fraud cases and take legal action if needed. 
  • Reviewing our practices and procedures regularly so that we're well equipped to deal with, and tackle tenancy fraud.  
  • Publishing information about our approach to tenancy fraud on our website and in our residents' magazine.
